The Logan County Young Republicans are open to anybody under the age of 40. Our goal is to increase education about the election process and have impactful conversations with young voters about the importance of their voice at the ballot box. Our members today are our Countries leaders tomorrow. Join us now or work for us later.
Our Story
Our Organization was just restarted and we are an official recognized chapter of the Colorado Young Republicans. Our officers are community leaders, high school students, college students, and blue collar workers. Everybody is welcome from all walks of life.
Meet The Team
Josh Sonnenberg
Eastern Plains Vice Chairman
Josh worked his first campaign walking in parades at the age of eight. He became the 2nd Vice Chair of the Logan County Republicans in 2010 at the age of nineteen.

As the Eastern Vice Chair Josh’s goal is to develop political operatives on the Eastern Plains to make sure that the 4th Congressional District remains the most conservative district
in the country.
Josh is a 4th generation rancher in Colorado. He along with his wife and 3 children run Sonnenberg & Sons Cattle which includes a cow/calf operation, running yearlings on grass and a custom feedlot. In his free time Josh umpires little league through high
school baseball as well as coaches his boys’ teams.
Jake Hettinger
Chairman
Jake Hettinger, from Merino CO, is currently pursuing his senior year at Colorado State University studying Agricultural Business and Finance. He is the Vice President of the CSU Farmhouse Fraternity, and Finance Chairman. Jake is also involved with the Farm Bureau Chapter and Turning Point USA Chapter at Colorado State University. During his academic tenure, he gained valuable leadership experience through an internship with State Senator Jerry Sonnenberg and a Legislative Aide position with State Senator Rod Pelton.

Jake is a fourth generation farmer and rancher in Colorado. He along with his father and grandfather run Hettinger X7 Ranch Inc. Their operation consists of growing irrigated crops, as well as a cow/calf herd. With a passion for Colorado Agriculture and entrepreneurship, Jake along with his family acquired Bar Three Ranch Inc in Merino CO, where they recently started a custom cattle feeding operation.

In his free time, Jake enjoys spending time outdoors, hunting, and fishing. He is also in the process of obtaining his private pilot’s license. He looks forward to contributing his leadership and work ethic to help make a positive impact in his community, as well as the Logan County Young Republicans Chapter.

Jeremy Leisure
Treasurer
Jeremy Leisure hails from Northglenn, Colorado, where he spent his formative years. His journey continued, when he moved to Northeast Colorado in 2013 after meeting his now-wife, Hilary. Jeremy is a proud father of two, RyLee and Brody. He embraced his calling as a law enforcement officer in 2016, dedicating himself to the service of his community.
His commitment to making a difference started as a chair board member for the Northglenn Youth Commission before joining the Logan County Young Republicans. Passionate about community engagement, he serves as a co-leader for his children's 4-H group. He also took on the role of treasurer for the Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 61, contributing in various capacities to support his fellow officers. Jeremy became a founding member of the Northeast Colorado Peer Support Team, a vital initiative that helps local law enforcement and fire service members, along with their families, navigate mental health challenges.
In his free time, Jeremy finds joy in camping, traveling, and
spending countless hours in his shop. During the spring months, he dedicates himself to preparing for the local fair in the sheep barn, embodying the spirit of hard work and community involvement.

Danyelle Adams
State Committee Woman
Danyelle Adams, from Sterling, CO, is a military veteran and first responder in the local area. Danyelle and her husband, Cody Adams, are committed to the growth and success of our community. Danyelle was born and raised in a rural farming community in Iowa and loves the passionate, caring and dedicated members of our local conservative small towns.
As the State Committee Woman, Danyelle’s goal is to work towards transparent and sustainable operations, backed by the Republicans in the State, 4th Congressional District, 13th Judicial District, 63rd House District, Senate District 1 and all of the surrounding areas while supporting and advocating for the local community members who ensure our area functions and progresses with their dedication.
